2014 Wedding Trends: Out with the old, in with the…old
As the end of 2013 rushes by us faster than we all care to admit, we have no choice but to look forward to the coming year. Although 2013 mostly consisted of 1920’s accent pieces and flecks of gold or blush hues, you can count on a few of those timeless trends to linger well into 2014.
Receptions everywhere took to the ever so popular 1920’s glam for their reception inspiration. Since the Roaring Twenties theme made such dramatic debut in 2013, designers and brides are continuing these graceful choices into 2014. Hand beaded gowns adorned runways and aisles alike with the elegant yet flirty silhouettes.
Aside from vintage dresses, antique décor allows you to include timeless and romantic family heirlooms to give your event that special something. Include those classic family pictures or ask your florist to add your great grandmother’s brooch to your wedding bouquet.
Grand is Back
Brides were really forfeiting those unique details last year when the economy was still coming back from a less than stellar year. Not only were they leaving out the colorful uplighting and beautifully printed menu cards, but they were also taking on a lot of those projects as a DIY opportunity. With all that said, look for 2014 to include Texas sized floral arrangements, elegant linens and extreme lighting.
It’s no secret that technology has definitely played a part in how people research and find information on weddings but also on how they document those special moments. Thanks to apps and websites like Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter and WeddingMix, guests and vendors are using technology in the freshest and most innovative ways.
